Life is Beautiful

Overlooking the sea, an announced summer hiding behind a flat horizon, I sit and wait. The soft breeze whispers promises. From this veranda, I walk. The temptation of jumping over the banister and crossing an ocean is bigger and bigger. A sudden chill, a moment merely. I’m alive. The future is right over there, my finger pointing at a faraway somewhere, and the nice woman hurrying over to tuck my blanket around my body. I’m back to being a baby, my past catches up with my present, and my future will soon be interrupted. But still, a sunny afternoon unfolds and life is beautiful right here, right now.

Lisbon, Portugal -- I am a former educator who became a writer. My fascination for people's intricacies and my love for words drive me to write stories. These appear in the format of flash-fiction, short stories and poetry, stubbornly and imprudently!

    1. 🙂 I like this pic a lot. I could be the beginning of a lot of stories!
