State of the Blog. Listing screen of posts, pages, and tags.

Hi guys! Here’s a look at our blog stats! As you see above in “Audience Overview” our daily visits to iRez jiggle somewhere in the 150 – 200 range. In the last 30 days we’ve had a total of 5,022 visits.

As of today we have 909 published posts on iRez.

Below is a breakdown of where those 5,022 visits came from, by Country, City, Browser, and Referral. USA is the big leader in countries. Although if you add up the EU countries, they’re still 2nd, but a lot more competitive with the North American total.

New York & London are the leading cities for iRez readers by a lot. Pretty cool that Sydney & Melbourne are #7 & #8.

For browsers, iRez readers prefer Chrome by a lot. Firefox is 2nd. BUT, if you skip down to load times, you’ll discover the biggest shock in all of this, for me at least: Internet Explorer loads pages faster than any other Browser?? A half second faster than Chrome!? A second and a half faster than Firefox!?

And next to browsers, in the “Red Column” you see that Google far and away is our #1 source of referrals to iRez. We do have a lot of “direct” visits. And to my surprise, of the social networks, Twitter and LinkedIn both beat Facebook. And Google.de & Google.fr are also a little sweet on iRez.

Below that in the “Purple columns” you see that 4,113 or about 82% of our monthly visitors are new to iRez. They look at about 1.5 pages, and are on the site for just under a minute, with an average of 54 seconds. Our 909 returning visitors last month looked at an average of 2-1/4 pages, and spent more like 5-1/4 minutes on iRez per visit.

On average an iRez page loads in 7.14 seconds (uggh!) I already mentioned the shocking news on the browser breakdown for that. By country, if you want to read iRez, you should totally move to Iceland where you can load iRez pages in under 2 seconds. My condolences to our friends in Sydney & Melbourne, it’s going to take you 4x than the Iceland peeps.

In the chart below, you see where our 5,022 visitors went last month. Not too surprisingly many go to the home page. But a lot, like 302, went straight to Wendz’ post on Minecraft 1.6.2. The 2nd most frequent page to visit was Arthurine’s BDSM in Second Life. Arthurine’s post also had one of the longest time on page averages. Her 252 views last month spent an average of 11:29 on her post. And Agnes wins the “Long Tail Award,” her post Laugh Out Loud from 2-1/2 years ago, back in January 2011, still got 144 visits last month. At an average of 3-1/2 minutes per visit, that’s over 8 hours of eyeballs this month, on a post Agnes wrote 30 months ago!

Finally here’s our list of posts per author. After Vanessa, Lizzie is our most frequent author, with Kathleen right behind her and with Yordie just one more behind her.

NOTE: If an iRez author Writes, Edits, or Reads while logged in, then your time and visits are not counted in these numbers. You can’t write or edit without being logged in, but if you do read while not logged in, then those visits would be counted.

I’ll try to make this a periodic update of iRez activity. LMK if you have any questions about these numbers or if there’s any other sort of info that you’d like to have. If you’d like to poke through our Google Analytics yourself, just LMK and I’ll show you where to go.
