Graduation Day

Nicole, Alexis, Kitten, Lyric, Abbie, 'n Me! Feb 22 was our last day of training!

“Training on 2/22 was so short, half-hour at most… little did I know… “Panels” would go on for hours!

Hanging out in the locker room with Abbie... waiting for our turn with the Panel... and waiting... and waiting... and waiting...
Shawna kept us company while we waited, and -- OMG -- her white Bax Boots!!! I swore the minute I saw them that if we actually made it thru, Abbie and I were getting them!

The panel got through Nicole, Alexis, Kitten & Lyric in 3 hours… and then said they were too tired to see Abbie and I. They were too tired! What about poor meeeeee with her stomach tied up in nervous knots! They said to come back the next day.

Around midnight I discovered that it was actually not “nervous knots” that were tying up my stomach — I had a minor case of food poisoning! So I spent a couple of hours hunched over a toilet bowl (with no SLCS sister to hold my hair back! πŸ˜›

Oh well, the good news was I wasn’t so nervous about panels after all! πŸ™‚

So we went back Wednesday night.

The panel was super-nice, but they were still intimidating anyway!! O_o
Plus, they wrote down EVERY word you said! They kept writing tons of notes even when you weren't talking! Even when they ran out of paper!!
Then, fortunately, I guess I was caming around a little -- and you know how if you have to give a speech they always say, "Just imagine your audience naked, you'll be a lot less nervous" -- well I looked under the desk, and somehow seeing the panel's legs... IDK... it sort of made everything a lot lighter... plus, it seems like Nikki NEVER actually wears shoes, and that really took the edge off.
This is the last picture ever of Me 'n Abbie in our Trainee uniforms. After I got back from Panel everyone kept yelling for me to take my trainee uniform off, but I wanted to keep it on till Abbie got back.
And then it was time to delete my Trainee Rank HUD and receive my Cheerleader Rank HUD -- or -- as I like to call it, The Prim-Butt Ceremony!
And then finally my favorite part! Abbie 'n Alexis 'n I got to take Graduation Photos!!!

And then it was our first practice as cheerleaders and OMG, Christi called Abbie and I up to the stage to say hello to the ginormous group of SLCS cheerleaders -- AND she made us dance!! I did riverdance, or tried to anyway, I think the tinies do it better!
And then we actually had practice... which for some reason was at Help Island. Maybe so we could practice with lots of lag luv!
And we did cheer to some fine fiddlin! I forget who played! πŸ™ Maybe someone can remind me in the comments below. (sowii!)
SLCS!
It was pretty laggy, but somehow we managed to pull off a large pyramid anyway!
And then FINALLY we got to do the thing I'd been waiting for -- a little rabid consumerism!! No, not the Segway, not smily face t-shirts either... The Boots!!! Actually the "free" cheerleader white boots are really amazing. They're such great work I was a little embarrassed to go buy more... but the Bax are sublime... and we'd earned them.

I grew up in Friday Harbor, WA, and went to school at UBC Vancouver where I received a BSN in 2003. Now I'm a nurse at Children & Women's Health Center of BC. I wish I could tell you I went clubbing every night after work, but those days are pretty much behind me. My boyfriend is a bit of a gamer, but I'm not fond of battles & killing stuff, so I rarely join him. Sometimes I play Second Life instead: it's fun to unleash my inner cheerleader! :)
