Diary #4

PALO ALTO, 2003 — Floating in Mark’s pool. He was making so much money back then. He was a star in the valley and I was his young wife. Everything seemed so easy and wonderful and exciting.

THE HAGUE, 2012 — Everything did seem so easy and wonderful and exciting then. Everything is better now. I wouldn’t go back if I could, not for a minute, not for a day. I feel like a real person today and I’m not sure I really did then. Still, when I look at her I see an innocence and a harmony, maybe it’s a “fake” or simplistic harmony, maybe it is real, IDK, I feel so much smarter and stronger today, yet there’s something “right” about her world, and I don’t think the world can ever be so easily right again.

As a virtual public artist my work invites avatar communities to express their identity, explore their culture, and demand their civil rights.
