A New Story for Avatar Blogger Month!

Introduction

After a breathing spell of about a month, I am back with a new story, this time a bit longer than usual. It’s divided into twelve parts; these will be posted on consecutive days and will be part of June Avatar Blogger Month. This story will also be displayed at LEA11 at the Avatar Blogger Crossfit exhibit.

The stories I post at iRez are all inspired by extraordinary sims built in the virtual world Second Life, so Goatswood, a Victorian Gothic residential role-play (RP) sim, was my home-base for a few days. The story I wrote is called It Takes a Village and it’s filled with mystery and intrigue. A community sticks together, despite their differences, under unusually strange circumstances!

There are a few observations I must share with you, in case you decide to visit this location. When you arrive, you’re at the station/commercial area. Before teleporting to the village, grab a Visitor’s Ticket (valid for three days, after which you’ll need a new one) and wear it while visiting (to TP, sit down in the train carriage where indicated). Considering that this sim is an RP sim, avoid engaging in conversation with the residents unless you are spoken to; they might be in-character, so it’s important not to disturb their RP. Also, many of the houses and rooms are rented, so do respect the villagers’ privacy. Thank you. 🙂

Goatswood is definitely an amazing sim, the result of a lot of hard work, where the visitor feels completely immersed in an absolutely charming and fascinating village.

Having said this, on to the story, It Takes a Village!

Lisbon, Portugal -- I am a former educator who became a writer. My fascination for people's intricacies and my love for words drive me to write stories. These appear in the format of flash-fiction, short stories and poetry, stubbornly and imprudently!

  1. Wow Lizzie, this is so exciting! I’ve set aside a row of 12 computer monitors and 12 avatar treadmills at Avatar Blogger Crossfit (ABC) at the LEA11 region in Second Life:

As each daily part is published we can put it on another monitor… so visitors can just hop down the row of treadmills and read the whole story!

(or, you know, on their own computers at home… if you’re into all that nostalgic sort of stuff! 🙂
