It’s no secret that I’m a huge Bollywood fan. Being born in the Indian Subcontinent and having roots from there, I guess it’s just natural for me to gravitate towards all of the glitz and glam of the Bollywood industry.

One of my most favorite movies from Bollywood is Taal, which means rhythmn. It’s a nice love story, but what I love most about the film are the songs. The songs are full of such beautiful poetry, I could listen to them all day. One of my all time favorite songs from that movie is “dil ye bechain” which basically translates into: “the heart is restless.”

While I was taking and photoshopping this image, that song and the poetry kept going through my head. I have to admit I am a huge fan of Urdu poetry and read it often, but the one thing I struggle with most is how much is always lost in translation.

is the building actually that pale, pastel tone? It gives it such a diaphanous, ephemeral quality…
